From the Attic,  German Dinner

Artists, Poets and More

One of the first presents that I remember Grandma giving to me was a drawing pad with instruction on how to draw simplified animals and figures. I know she had high hopes. I was always amazed how she could take a blank piece of paper and make it come to life with just a few strokes of her brush.
And Grandpa’s drawing board was such a mystery of lines and charts and numbers.
Both Grandma and Grandpa were remarkably creative and set a pattern for all of us to follow in our own way.  Here are a few things from the attic that remind us of our wonderful heritage of creative work and discipline.

Engineering drawings and tables by Ernest

How ingenious is this!  Ernie said that it worked just great until a fish would get caught in the pipe. ( I don’t think Grandpa E. E. included that in his calculations.)
Finally, they put a screen on the end of the pipe to keep the fish out. 🙂
